ABOUT US
Jackie
Hi, my name is Jackie, better known to our pets as “Aunt Jackie” and Paws n’ Claws is my pet care business. I have been caring for pets my entire life and now I feel privileged that I have the opportunity to care for other people's pets as well.
Growing up in rural New York, I’ve been blessed to have many pets in my life. Not only did we have the normal family pets, but I was also privileged to grow up with guide dogs for my father who has special needs. I was taught early on that the better I cared for my pets, the happier and healthier they would be.
I got my start in professional pet care by working for other Los Angeles dog walking companies. I learned a lot from these jobs, but I also saw several ways to give higher quality of service at a lower price. Like a scene from Jerry Maguire, when I brought these suggestions to the attention of management, no one wanted to hear it. It was all about the bottom line. This is one of the motivations for starting my company.
My partner and I have chosen to keep the company smaller and on a more personal level. Keeping my business smaller allows me to personally give the highest quality service to all of my clients.
My company is an extension of the love my pets gave me and it’s an absolute joy to be able to work with my clients pets all day long. When I work with your pets, they become part of our family and that’s how I treat them, as family members. This is one of the benefits of our services that most of our clients comment most about, the bond I make with our clients pets. To me this isn’t just a job. I love animals and I want to make the time I spend with your pet the next best thing to them spending time with you.

I have established myself as one of the top Nutrition and Fitness experts in Los Angeles and I’m currently writing a book on Diet and Fitness. I love the opportunity to work with animals on a daily basis.
I’ve been a pet owner and a pet lover my whole life, which makes this is one of the greatest jobs I’ve ever had. I grew up with Scruffy, a beautiful, loyal and loving mutt and Kit-Kat, a cat that I adopted when her owner could no longer care for her. I’ve also fostered several other cats when they needed a home.
I have a talent for being able to slim down dogs that have had too many treats over the years. I have helped many dogs regain their youthful figures. Especially “Greggy” the overweight bulldog, “Puggsie” the Pug, “Nippy” the overweight Chihuahua, and “Georgie” the Black Lab who had cancer and had her spleen removed. She is now in perfect health and I couldn’t be happier.
